Celestiq

By Doug Clayton, EVGrok Staff Writer

The 2026 Cadillac Celestiq represents the pinnacle of General Motors' electric ambitions, serving as an ultra-luxury, hand-built flagship sedan. Riding on a specialized version of the Ultium platform, the Celestiq features a 111-kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. This powertrain delivers an estimated 600 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque, propelling the massive fastback from zero to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds while targeting an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles.

Technological innovation is at the forefront of the Celestiq experience, highlighted by a massive 55-inch pillar-to-pillar digital dashboard and a smart glass roof with suspended particle device technology. This allows each of the four passengers to individually adjust the opacity of the glass above them. The cabin is strictly a four-seat configuration, prioritizing immense legroom, premium materials, and individualized climate and infotainment controls for every occupant.

Because each Celestiq is custom-commissioned and hand-assembled at GM's Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, no two vehicles are exactly alike. The suspension utilizes adaptive air springs, magnetic ride control, and active roll control to ensure a ride quality befitting its astronomical price tag. Fast charging is supported up to 200 kW, enabling the vehicle to add roughly 78 miles of range in 10 minutes at a compatible DC fast charging station.
