The 2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV leverages General Motors Ultium battery architecture to provide a balanced mix of range, performance, and affordability in the compact crossover segment. The base front-wheel-drive configuration utilizes a single permanent magnet motor producing 210 horsepower, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant increases output to 288 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque. Power is supplied by an approximately 85 kWh battery pack, enabling up to 319 miles of EPA-estimated range on FWD models and 285 miles on AWD versions.
Charging capabilities include standard 11.5 kW Level 2 AC charging, which can replenish the battery in roughly 9.5 hours, while an available 19.2 kW onboard charger on top trims reduces this time significantly. DC fast charging peaks at 150 kW, allowing the Equinox EV to add approximately 70 miles of range in just 10 minutes. For the 2026 model year, the vehicle transitions to the NACS charge port, granting native access to the Tesla Supercharger network without the need for an adapter.
Inside, the Equinox EV features a tech-forward cabin highlighted by a standard 17.7-inch diagonal infotainment screen and an 11-inch digital instrument cluster. The system runs on a Google built-in operating system, providing seamless integration with Google Maps and Google Assistant. Advanced driver assistance systems are abundant, with GM Super Cruise hands-free driving technology available on higher trims, utilizing LiDAR map data and real-time cameras to navigate compatible highways.
