The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning retains the traditional styling and immense utility of America's best-selling truck while delivering a fully electric driving experience. Built on a modified F-150 frame, it features an independent rear suspension that significantly improves ride quality compared to its gas-powered siblings. The Lightning is available with two battery options: a standard-range pack targeting 240 miles and an extended-range pack that pushes the EPA estimate up to 320 miles.

Performance is a strong suit for the Lightning, with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup standard across the lineup. The extended-range models produce 580 horsepower and a massive 775 lb-ft of torque, enabling the heavy truck to sprint from zero to 60 mph in under four seconds. Towing capacity maxes out at 10,000 pounds when properly equipped, though drivers should expect a significant reduction in range when pulling heavy loads at highway speeds.

Inside, the F-150 Lightning offers a cavernous SuperCrew cabin loaded with practical features and modern technology. A large central touchscreen runs Ford's latest infotainment system, while the Mega Power Frunk provides 14.1 cubic feet of lockable, water-resistant storage where a gas engine would normally sit. The truck also features Pro Power Onboard, allowing owners to use the vehicle's battery to power tools, electronics, or even their home during an outage.
