Hummer EV

By Doug Clayton, EVGrok Staff Writer

The 2026 General Motors Hummer EV continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle engineering, offering an unapologetically massive footprint paired with staggering performance. Built on GM's Ultium platform, this supertruck is available in both pickup and SUV body styles. It utilizes a massive double-stacked battery pack that provides up to 381 miles of range in the pickup configuration, ensuring that its immense size does not completely compromise its long-distance usability.

Performance is where the Hummer EV truly defies physics. Equipped with up to three electric motors, the top-tier 3X trims generate up to 1,000 horsepower and an estimated 1,200 lb-ft of motor torque. Using the exclusive Watts to Freedom launch mode, this 9,000-pound behemoth can sprint from zero to 60 mph in roughly 3.0 seconds. Off-road capabilities are equally extreme, featuring an adaptive air suspension with Extract Mode, underbody armor, and the signature CrabWalk feature that allows the vehicle to drive diagonally at low speeds.

Inside, the Hummer EV balances rugged utility with premium technology. The cabin is dominated by a 13.4-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, both powered by the Unreal Engine for high-fidelity graphics. The standard Infinity Roof features modular, transparent Sky Panels that can be removed and stored in the spacious power frunk, offering an open-air driving experience. For 2026, GM continues to refine the software and charging experience, integrating native NACS support for seamless access to a broader fast-charging network.
