The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 builds upon its highly successful retro-futuristic foundation, utilizing the advanced E-GMP platform to deliver exceptional interior space and ultra-fast charging capabilities. For this model year, Hyundai has implemented significant updates, including a highly requested rear windshield wiper, revised front and rear bumpers, and a more ergonomic center console with additional physical buttons for frequently used controls.
Under the floor, the Ioniq 5 now features larger battery packs, with the standard range model utilizing a 63 kWh pack and the long-range variants upgrading to an 84 kWh unit. This increase in energy density pushes the maximum EPA-estimated range past the 310-mile mark for rear-wheel-drive configurations. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup continues to produce a robust 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0-60 mph sprint in just under 4.5 seconds. Notably, the 2026 model comes factory-equipped with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, allowing seamless access to the Tesla Supercharger network without an adapter.
Inside the cabin, the Ioniq 5 retains its lounge-like atmosphere, highlighted by a flat floor, reclining front seats with footrests, and sustainable materials throughout. The infotainment system has been upgraded to Hyundai's latest Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), offering faster processing, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air update capabilities. With its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, the Ioniq 5 remains a versatile tool for powering external devices, camping gear, or even providing emergency home backup power.
