The 2026 Kia EV3 enters the subcompact electric crossover segment as a smaller, more affordable sibling to the flagship EV9. Utilizing a modified version of the Hyundai Motor Group's E-GMP architecture, the EV3 shifts to a 400-volt electrical system to keep costs down while retaining the bold, boxy design language that has defined Kia's latest electric offerings. Its compact footprint makes it highly maneuverable in urban environments, yet its dedicated EV platform ensures a surprisingly spacious cabin.

At launch, the US-market EV3 features a front-wheel-drive configuration powered by a single electric motor producing 201 horsepower and 283 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a standard 58.3 kWh battery pack or an extended-range 81.4 kWh pack, with the latter targeting an EPA-estimated range of around 300 miles on a single charge. While it lacks the ultra-fast 800V charging of the EV6, the EV3 can still fast-charge from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 31 minutes at a compatible DC fast charger.

Inside, the EV3 embraces a minimalist, tech-forward aesthetic highlighted by a nearly 30-inch continuous digital display panel that combines the digital instrument cluster, climate controls, and infotainment touchscreen. The cabin makes extensive use of sustainable and recycled materials, offering a lounge-like atmosphere with practical touches like a sliding center console table. Advanced driver assistance systems and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability further enhance the EV3's everyday utility and appeal.
