EV6

By Doug Clayton, EVGrok Staff Writer

The 2026 Kia EV6 introduces a thoughtful mid-cycle refresh to one of the most compelling electric crossovers on the market. Key updates include revised front and rear fascias with a new signature lighting design, giving the EV6 a sharper, more modern presence. Inside, the cabin benefits from Kia's latest ccNC infotainment system, which offers improved responsiveness, wireless smartphone mirroring, and over-the-air update capabilities across a sleek panoramic curved display.

Under the skin, the 2026 EV6 receives upgraded battery packs, with the standard range model growing to 63 kWh and the long-range variants expanding to 84 kWh. This increase in energy density translates to modestly improved driving ranges, while retaining the E-GMP platform's vaunted 800-volt architecture. This allows the EV6 to charge from 10 to 80 percent in under 20 minutes when connected to a 350 kW DC fast charger, keeping it at the forefront of charging speeds in its class.

Performance remains a strong suit for the EV6, with configurations ranging from an efficient single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup to a potent dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. The suspension has been subtly retuned to enhance ride comfort without sacrificing the crossover's inherently sporty handling characteristics. For the US market, the 2026 model is also expected to transition to the NACS charging port natively, granting seamless access to the Tesla Supercharger network.
