The 2026 Rivian R1T represents the second generation of the groundbreaking electric pickup, featuring a completely revamped electrical architecture that significantly reduces wiring and weight. Rivian has introduced its own in-house drive units across the lineup, replacing the previous third-party motors. The new configuration includes a standard Dual-Motor, a potent Tri-Motor setup, and a staggering 1,025-horsepower Quad-Motor variant that delivers hypercar-level acceleration in a versatile truck body.
Battery options have also been updated, with the entry-level Standard pack now utilizing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry for better longevity and lower costs. The Large and Max packs continue to use nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cells, with the Max pack pushing the R1T's EPA-estimated range up to 420 miles. The suspension has been retuned for better on-road compliance without sacrificing the impressive 14.9 inches of maximum ground clearance provided by the adjustable air suspension.
Inside, the R1T retains its premium, adventure-ready cabin but gains enhanced computing power to support a new, highly detailed user interface and advanced driver-assistance features. The signature Gear Tunnel remains a standout feature, offering 11.7 cubic feet of secure, weather-proof storage right behind the cabin. With native NACS charging ports rolling out, the 2026 R1T offers seamless access to the Tesla Supercharger network, further cementing its status as the ultimate electric adventure vehicle.
