Dual Motor Performance AWD

The Performance model is a slight upgrade from the standard dual motor AWD edition. It offers an additional 100hp of torque and some additional handling features for on-road driving. It also has a full second faster 0-60mpg time at 3.5 seconds. It's a $6000 upgrade that makes sense if you opts to keep the longer range Dual motor (the quad offers less range than the dual). This is the option when you want to keep the higher range but increase performance.

Quad Motor AWD

Thw quad motor Rivian R1S offers an even more powerful powertrain topping out around 1000 horsepower and a 3 second flat 0-60 for the ultimate high speed adventure. The range suffers as a result of the power requirements for this heavier version. It does boast fully independent torque vectoring, which is a fancy term for 4 wheel indpendent torque which can get you out of nearly any offroad jam. Having one motor per wheel makes this beast a non-brainer for the EV maximalist.
